How To Look Better Without Makeup

Hey everyone! I know makeup is super fun but sometimes you feel like wearing less. I know that happened to me and I started to feel not to great without makeup on. I figured this wasn’t good so I decided to try to take my makeup wearing a notch down. This is what I did to help and it definitely did!

Wear Less Makeup

I used to wear a whole face of makeup everyday. Now that I don’t, my skin looks so much better (I don’t know if it’s because of not constantly seeing perfect skin from foundation or if the products help). It makes not wearing makeup easier since you don’t constantly wear a huge amount of makeup.

No Foundation

Wearing foundation clogs your pores and also makes you think that your skin is bad when you take it off. Use a Skin Tint or Tinted Moisturizer instead. These keep your skin hydrated and healthier throughout the day without completely covering your skin.

Use Natural Products

I always notice a difference when I use natural products verses other products with chemicals. Essential oils are always good. I also try to stay away from brands that test on animals because it is so awful.

Castor Oil or Vaseline

In order to help your eyelashes and eyebrows grow apply a bit of castor oil or vaseline on them at night. It helps them grow a lot!

Coconut Oil

If you have dry or sensitive skin use coconut oil to remove your makeup and then use a gentle cleanser to remove all of your makeup and the coconut oil. That way your skin isn’t irritated or red. You can also use coconut oil to moisturize your dry skin to give it a healthy glow.

Drink Water

Drinking water helps your skin look so much better! Try to drink a lot more water than you normally do. Don’t wait until you are thirsty because by the time you get thirsty you are already dehydrated.

Exercise Without Makeup

Sweating is really good for your skin. But if you have makeup on it clogs your pores so make sure to remove your makeup before working out or doing an activity where you sweat.

Focus on Skincare Instead Of Makeup

Make sure that you are more focused on skincare instead of makeup. Because why would you cover up the issues you could just solve. Use Pinterest or blogging websites to find products that could help any of your skin issues.


I try to exfoliate at least 3 times a week. That way the dead skin is removed from your face and your skin looks more glowy.

Makeup Free

Your skin will be able to breath more if you go without makeup. So on days where you are just doing chores or staying home go without makeup.

Tea Tree Oil 

My holy grail product is tea tree oil serum. It helps heal acne scars, hydrate oily or dry skin, get rid of acne, and dull redness. It is so amazing!


Use a toner to help your skin tone become more even. I love rose water toners because it is so calming!

Face Masks

Use a face mask at least once a week. I use Diy Face masks and store-bought ones as well. One of my favorites is the body shop tea tree oil face mask.

Look at Your Diet

See if there are any connections to your skin and what you eat. I know when I eat sugar my skin starts looking very bad and I feel tired. So see if anything effects your skin.

Take Care of Your Skin Everyday

Make sure to cleanse your skin and do all of your skincare everyday! If you don’t, your skin will look dull and you will get more acne.

  1. I only ever wear makeup when I go out, or if I’m really tired looking. I try not to wear a full face because it makes my skin feel really greasy and I get spots, which at 27 is just annoying. Skincare is so important, and is a great thing to focus on!

  2. Great post! Drinking more water is definitely something I am working on. Hopefully my skin will start to clear up now. Plus it always feels good to not be drinking all my calories!

  3. It’s super important to take time to focus on your skin and drink plenty of water! It really does work wonders for your skin. Knowing what food works for your skin definitely takes a bit of time but when you find what isn’t cooperating with your skin it makes such a difference 🙂 xx
