Hey everyone! Today I am going to talk to you about how I stay fit and healthy. But before I get into it, please follow me if you aren’t already and enjoy!
The first thing is kind of obvious, I workout! I definitely don’t work out every day, I only work out when I feel like it. I think that is the important part, if I don’t feel very good, I won’t work out. I don’t not exercise just because I don’t feel like moving or I want to watch TV, just if I’m not up to it. I mostly focus on abs and legs. Some of my favorite exercises are crunches, squats, Russian twists, and planks. If you want me to post about my workout routine and go more into detail let me know.
Next thing is also obvious, you need to eat healthy. I normally try to have certain things for each meal. For breakfast I like smoothies, or fruit with nuts and toast. I normally try to have a balanced meal, so I include fruit, and protein. I also try to stay away from sugar and try not to cheat. If you cheat, you will definitely regret it because you will start craving it more and more. Just think, this will make me happy while I eat it, but then I will feel bad later.
If you do decide to eat unhealthy once in a while, which I definitely do, make sure to drink water. Water flushes all of the bad things out of your body, so if you drink a lot of water it won’t hurt your body as much if you cheat. Also infused water is super good for you. I normally put cucumbers, lemon, and strawberries in my water.
If you don’t workout everyday, or you aren’t feeling up to it go on a walk! I recently discovered how much I like to walk. I will walk a little under a mile, mostly everyday. I love to go with my dog because she enjoys it too. I really like being outside as well. If you want to do something harder try hiking or going on a bike ride.
It is important to get enough sleep, especially if you are exercising more than normal. Most people are supposed to get around 8 hours of sleep, but everyone is different. It is ideal for me to just let my body wake up when it wants.
Gym or Class
For some people it is hard to motivate yourself to exercise at home. Go to the gym or take a class if that is you. I take a few dance classes and a pilates class. Something simple like pilates is relaxing but also good for you. Also if you are looking for a really intense workout, using the equipment at the gym might be nice for you.
Sometimes it is easy to think, it may be easier to just get fast food, so have healthy food you can make in the house. Look on Pinterest and find some easy recipes you can make. Then get the ingredients and save them for a day where you want to get fast food. You can also make the food and then freeze it. That way it will be extra easy to make.
Something that motivates me to workout is using fitness technology like a Fitbit or an Apple Watch. I have actually had both and I really like my Apple Watch. It is really handy to be able to track different things while you are exercising and keep track of it all. It makes me want to exercise more because you can track each specific type of workout.
Sometimes you don’t feel like working out because you don’t want to take the time. But there is an app I use that has different workouts around 7 minutes long. It is called 7M Workouts and it’s free. I use the women’s one, but I think there are a few different ones. There are different types of workouts for different parts of you body. I thought these would be so easy because it’s fast, but it’s actually hard. It times you and only gives you a 10 second break, so your muscles get tired faster.
