Hey everyone! Today I am going to be showing you some healthy habits that I have learned to do that are just better for your mental and physical health. Please follow me if you aren’t already and enjoy!
If you don’t have a journal, get one. They are so helpful even if it sounds ridiculous to write down your thoughts. Even if you don’t want to write down your thoughts, creative writing, poetry basically any type of writing is good for your mental health. I like to write a while before bed while listening to some music to help me unwind.
Stay Away From Your Phone
I know it can be hard, but it isn’t good for you to constantly be on your phone from when you get up to when you go to bed. I try to put away my phone and electronics about 45 minutes before I go to bed. I also try to stay off my phone as long as possible in the morning. I notice this helps me sleep better and feel better overall.
Try to stay positive! One thing that I do is right before bed, I will right down at least 3 good thins that happened during the day. This helps me reflect and focus on the good right before I rest.
I know you are probably sick of hearing this, but drinking water helps pretty much anything. Tired? Drink water. Bad skin? Drink water. Make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day. I like to have a couple different water bottles (one being a Starbucks cup) around my house so that I remember to drink.
Reading is so amazing for your mental health and just great for your mind. I read every night before bed for about 20 minutes. I also think it is important for you to read a bible every night even if it is one page like me. Reading really helps me relax and unwind.
Listen To Music
I love listening to music, whether it is to boost my mood, help me focus or unwind. I love that Spotify has different moods that you can get a playlist for, so you can basically find anything that fits. I love to listen to music for pretty much everything, waking up, going to sleep, getting pumped lol.
Something I really like doing to help me relax, while also getting a small amount of exercise is stretch. I look up good stretches on Pinterest and stretch while listening to music or watching TV.
I don’t normally get into diet restrictions, but not eating sugar will actually change your life. It will also make it easier for you to gain self control. I haven’t eaten sugar this year yet and my skin looks great. I also notice that I feel a lot better when I don’t eat sugar.
Something I love to do in order to get some exercise is to go on a walk. It is fun to take my dog out and either listen to some music, or just the sounds of nature. I also like to go on walks with my family and run a little. Any kind of small amounts of exercise like walking, yoga, stretching, etc is easy to get into. That way, if you want to, you can get into a routine.
