Hey everyone 🙂 I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy. As some of you may be bored at home I thought it would be fun to give you some of my favorite types of exercise because now is the perfect type to get fit and healthy. Going on a walk is a great way to get outside and get some exercise without it really feeling like exercise. I love to take my dog or my family and go on a walk in the sun. Walking is a good way to use your muscles and burn some calories without breaking a sweat. It is also great for you to get out in nature and give your dog some exercise.
I have been a dancer for 14 years, so it has always been something I do to stay fit and get some exercise. BUT! Even if you haven’t been a dancer you can still do this. First, you can always take a dance class which is always fun whether it is in a studio or online. As we are all at home though, you can learn some Tik Tok dances. This is actually harder than it looks and is a great cardio workout. I would have to say that this is my favorite form of exercise. Also, this picture was taken a couple years ago when I was still in ballet.
For those of you who may not want to exert yourself as much, or want something for a lazy day, yoga is for you! The thing I love about yoga is that it is super relaxing, but you also work your muscles and get in a good stretch. There are so many types of yoga out there but I always use YouTube to find videos to watch. My favorite channel for yoga is yogatx. There are videos from 5mins. to over an hour that are really relaxing and get your body moving.
Traditional workouts can also be fun if you find one that you enjoy. I really enjoy doing ab workouts and always like to find new ones to try. Changing things up is important so that you can look forward to trying new things. I have found my favorite ab workouts on TikTok or by people that I follow on YouTube. This has also been my daily ab workout that I love.
Lastly, hiking is a fun thing to do with friends or family members. This does require a bit more effort to get out of the house and find a hike, but it’s worth it. It doesn’t feel as much like exercise and more like exploring. With most hikes you also get a great reward at the end. This is a great one to do to get in a little cardio if walking is a bit too easy for your body.
*Remember that working out needs to be for you and only you. Also! Don’t get stuck in the mindset of working out to lose weight, think of it as you are bettering yourself and helping your body*
